Alexander Gustave Eiffel was also known as 'Gustave Eiffel'. Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel was born in Dijon, France on December 15, 1832. He lead the team the developed the Eiffel Tower but before that, he designed the metal framework of another famous landmark, The Staue Of Liberty! He had also been part of the builing of the arched Gallery of Machines for the Paris Exhibition of 1867, the 'Iron Bridge' at Bordeux, the 525-foot long, steel arched Ponte Maria Pia Bridge and the 540-foot Garabit viaduct in Truyère, France. In his final years, Gustave Eiffel turned his interest to meteorology in his final years, studying the subject at length before his death on December 27, 1923.
